Subjects Offered

Students seeking admission to Christ College - Residential will be assisted by the Career Counsellor to arrive at the right decision regarding the combination of subjects. To this end, they will also be assisted by subject and language teachers to make the right choice according to the individual needs and aptitudes. They can choose the HL and SL subjects in accordance with the IB stipulations.

A period of 20 days will be given for the final subject selections. During this time the teachers concerned will guide the students towards the requirements of each subject and the students are expected to familiarize with the selections made and know the level of standard expected and make the necessary changes in their selections.

Admission Process

The Admission to the IB Diploma programme will be overseen by an admission committee under the leadership of the Diploma Programme Coordinator. An aspirant to the Diploma Programme has to go through the following steps while seeking admission. 

A student who does not meet the documentary evidences will not be called for the admission tests.

  • A written test which tests Reasoning and Aptitude, Mathematical skills, Science skills, Language skills and General awareness of the candidate will be commenced.
  • A personal interview by the Diploma Programme Coordinator and the Principal will be followed after the written test.

The time and venue of the admission tests and interview will be informed to the students via email or over phone.

A student who meets the criteria will meet the Principal, who in turn will take the final decision on the admission. Admission will be based on first come first served basis. Once the admission is granted, students must enroll after paying the stipulated fees.

Every student will be granted admission provisionally and the admission is only confirmed once the students submit their Grade 10 Marks Card or Certificates and
only if they successfully complete the bridge course. This applies for those who are from non IB backgrounds.

Skills Required

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a rigorous and challenging course and therefore the students seeking admission will be required to demonstrate the skills and attitudes required for a 21 century learner.Some of these skills are critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration and leadership, lifelong learning, self direction and personal management, communication, creativity and innovation, social responsibility, cultural, global and environmental awareness, digital and technological literacy and analytical skills, research skills, data processing, etc.

Criteria for Selection

  • Candidates should actively enjoy learning and have a passion towards learning.
  • They should have a fairly good knowledge about concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global importance.
  • They should have the ability to communicate very effectively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication.
  • They should have integrity and honesty.
  • They should demonstrate respect towards the traditional and cultural values of the society.
  • They should be service oriented and could contribute to the shared vision of humanity.

Criteria for Admission

Students with any one of the following qualifications can be considered for admission to IBDP.

  • Students who successfully completed IB MYP with a minimum of 36 IB points and also who have completed the core requirements successfully
  • Students who successfully completed Cambridge IGCSE, Oxford 'O' levels or any other International Board Examinations with minimum 80% marks
  • Students who successfully completed ICSE,CBSE or any other Indian Board Examinations in Grade 10 with a minimum 90% marks or equivalent criteria
  • Students who successfully completed state board examinations with 90% marks and who demonstrate good communication and thinking skills.

Procedure for Admission

Admission to the Diploma Programme will be announced through the college website and through the medium of other promotional materials.

  • Download the Application form or Collect the application pack from the office.
  • Arrange for a counselling session and campus tour.
  • Submit the filled-in form along with the supporting documents.
